Zowie :Maryland

Name: Zowie
Date of Birth and/or Age: 15 months (spayed)
Current Location: Maryland

Brief Summary of the Situation:

Zowie is a beautiful one-year and 3 month old spayed female available to an appropriate home that can love her, work with her and her high energy and play drive. She is up to date on all vaccines. We were told she is a Shiloh, but cannot verify that. She is a beautiful stable smooth coat.

Background: We are told that Zowie was on born on 8/2/18 by a “Amish farmer.”  She is one year and 3 months old with stabilized EPI – Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency. She is on a strict diet of Royal Canine Gastrointestinal High Energy Canned and Dry dog food, and their treats.  She is ready to convert to a regular non grain food like Taste of the Wild. She has two meals a day with special enzymes, Vitamin B12 and Slippery Elm.  Further discussion with potential owners in great detail will be provided.

Issue:  Our home has two older Shilohs and an older pit bull.  The original owner said she did not get along with small dogs.  She gets along with our dogs outside most of the time. She has growled and tried to start fights with our older girls on occasion and has started a short fight with our eldest Shiloh. We felt she was socialized with our pit bull outside. In the house, on both visits/attempts upstairs, she attacked the pit bull.  No harm was done - we move quickly!

Resolution:  For the health and safety of all involved, I believe it is time to move this high energy Shiloh into the RIGHT home. The ideal situation is no other animals – period and no small children. she loves to play ball. You must be prepared to take her on walks, work on her training (pretty good level for a 1 year old), run around the yard, feed her on schedule 2x day (with only the proper food and additives – no snacks for her, and recommended treats). She is a beautiful, loving, playful dog with lots of play drive!  Also very smart and crate trained!

Kyiah :Washington State

Name: Kyiah
Date of Birth and/or Age: 2/18/2011, 8yrs
Current Location: Rathdrum, Idaho
Breeder (if known): Kindred Spirit Shilohs

Brief Summary of the Situation:

Almost 8yrs old Meet Kyiah! Due to no fault of her own, Kyiah is in need of rehoming. Kyiah’s owner passed away suddenly and other family members were not in a position to properly care for her. She is a very sweet, talkative and obedient dog who has an excellent recall. She is not a large Shiloh but is both very agile and athletic. Most people who meet her think that she is a puppy and in no way does she act like a 7 year-old dog. She likes her quiet time but is no couch potato. Kyiah will do best in a home where she can get some exercise and will be taken on daily walks. This girl would appreciate a home on property or at least with a large yard. In our foster care, she has enjoyed the company of our 4 year-old male. They run and play hard and though he outweighs her by 30 pounds she is a good match for him. She was clearly cared for and taught the important commands and she is smart and willing to learn new ones.

Kyiah has a very strong prey-drive and should not go to a home with cats or other uncaged small animals. She is good with children and though she barks when someone comes to the door, she settles down quickly and is friendly to strangers. She can be reactive to other dogs on walks but generally once she meets them is friendly. She is sound sensitive and sometimes will bark at the sound of other dogs in proximity but we have had success working with her to lessen this tendency. She just needs calm, confident reassurance and she settles down fairly quickly.  Kyiah has exhibited some non-destructive separation anxiety. She can be anxious and howls when left alone.  We think this is a result of her separation from her former family and because of their illness, she may have had periods when she was left alone for long periods. We have been helping her with this and have seen much improvement in this behavior. She is crate-trained and likes a crate, choosing to spend time in it with an open door at various times during the day.  She is currently up-to-date on vaccinations and completely healthy as far as we know. All past vet records for her are available. Kyiah is currently residing in Washington State.

If interested, please fill out our adoption application. Must pick up in Washington State.

Major :Oklahoma

Name: Major
Date of Birth and/or Age: approx 2yrs
Current Location: Oklahoma
Breeder (if known): unknown

Brief Summary of the Situation:
Major is special needs and is available to a select home. He has been diagnosed with hip dysplasia and has a bone issue in one of his front elbows.

He is neutered and currently lives with a Yorkie and older children.

He doesn’t like thunder and loud yelling. He has great difficulty standing up and walking on tile floors so a carpeted home is in his best interest.

He is a very calm laid back boy and would be a great addition for a retiree or a quiet home.

We are unsure of his age or too much of his past history. He was turned into a shelter after having been found on a back road. His current family adopted him, but their tile floors are much too difficult for him to function and live happily.

If you are interested in adopting Major, please fill out our adoption application.

Monet :Pennsylvania

Name: Monet
Date of Birth and/or Age: 8/13/2010 (9yrs)
Current Location: Pennsylvania
Breeder (if known): Ridgewood Shilohs

Brief Summary of the Situation:
Monet is up for re-home
Serious inquires only please (610-378-1899)

Monet is from our Shiraz/Brodie (08/13/2010) litter. She will be 9 years old.  Monet was one of our breeding/show girls and was re-homed to a very close friend two years ago.  Due to health issues my friend can no longer take care of Monet and she has been back at Ridgewood for the last three months.

Unfortunately, Monet doesn’t get along with my younger Shilohs and my
older Shilohs do not like her; thus we are looking for a forever home for Monet.

Monet is  VERY young for her age.  She loves to run and play chase (as seen in the video-playing with our male Rifkin).  Monet gets along well with MALE Shilohs/Shepherds, but not females.  I would advise no small dogs as she can be snarky with puppies when they get in her face.

Monet was well socialized at one point as she was shown for many years, but the last few years she has not gotten out and about from the home much.  Monet at times can be a little shy with strangers (usually men), likes young girls (use to spend time and sleep with my granddaughter), not sure of and can be shy of boys.   Monet has NEVER been aggressive towards people/children in any way.  If she is uncomfortable, she will shy/run away and bark.
Monet on lead is well behaved, though if she would get loose doesn’t always come when called.  She could use some obedience training, but is house and crate trained.  Monet is AFRAID during thunderstorms, fire works/gun fire.  Monet rides well in the car and likes to go away places.  Monet is up to date on vaccines and recently had a health check up.   Monet is NOT food aggressive with people, but does guard her food/bones/toys from other dogs and can be snarky at these times.

Monet would love a home with a fenced in yard (not to close with neighboring dogs-as she will fence fight/bark at fence) and a buddy to play with.  Monet would be fine as an only dog (if owner is home most of the time.), but would love a male companion as she has never been an only dog.  Monet has never been around cats.

If you think you would be interested in giving Monet a forever home, please send an email to her breeder at:
Ridgewoodshilohs@gmail.com
I will not fly/ship Monet, so you must be within driving distance.

Lola :Wisconsin

Image may contain: dog, outdoor and water

Name: Lola
Date of Birth and/or Age: 6YO, spayed
Current Location: Wisconsin

Brief Summary of the Situation:
Due to unforeseen circumstances beyond her control, her owner had to move to a place that doesn’t allow dogs. This leaves her dearly loved 6 year old Purebred Shiloh Shepherd, Lola, in need of a new home. She has always had medical care and I’ve worked with a trainer over the years. She is spayed and UTD on all vaccines. Lola is very smart and devoted to her humans. She is temporarily staying with the owners son in SE Wisconsin. She has tried to find her a new home through the breeder, my vet and the dog people she knows and trusts and nothing has opened up for her. She loves children, adults and other dogs. No cats! If you are interested in adopting Lola, Please fill out our adoption application by clicking on this link.

Pat :California

Image may contain: outdoor and nature

Name: Pat
Date of Birth and/or Age: 4-6 yrs
Current Location: California

Brief Summary of the Situation:

Pat is looking for his forever home. He has had a rough time and really needs to find his forever family. We are thinking he is a Shiloh due to his large size and his temperament is very different from a typical GSD.

The vet’s opinion is that he is in the 4-6 years of age, he feels he is just a boy who hasn’t been cared for and looks worn on the surface. He’s a bit saggy and has no muscle tone. He towers over the GSDs at the foster home he is currently at and is a little underweight at 99lbs. His blood panels, urine and fecal are all normal. He’s heartworm negative. He is house broken, UTD on shots, and neutered.

He has a very sweet temperament, no problems with adults, kids, or other dogs. Her GSDs have been verbally snarky with him and he just backs away. They wouldn't let him sleep in her bedroom last night, so he slept just outside the door. He is silly and playful and jumps, play bows, and tries to get them to play.

He was confiscated from a marijuana grow house three years ago, and then adopted out and has been back at the shelter twice since then, once as a stray, and she doesn't know the circumstances of the other.

He has never shown any aggression to anything at any of his "incarcerations". Didn't even bark at her lawn guy this morning though her GSDs did, lol. He walks fine on leash and knows basic commands. He sounds like a great dog. She says he is special. He is currently at a temporary experienced foster home.

If you are interested in adopting Pat, please fill out our adoption application and I will forward it to the rescue he is at.

Trinity :New York

Name: Trinity
Date of Birth and/or Age: 7mos
Current Location: New York

Brief Summary of the Situation:

“Trinity” is considered special needs due to Hip Dysplasia (see X-ray in photos).

Trinity is a 7 month old female Shiloh Shepherd-Loasian mix puppy (not spayed) who is in need of a new home.

Trinity is extremely loyal, super smart, very loving, sassy and sweet. She has personality and spunk, but is on her way to successfully being trained if continued on this path. She’s crate trained, walks well on a leash, outdoors potty trained, returns on command or whistled for. She’s a good girl and knows how to sit, place and stay.  Trinity also knows hand commands as well as takes verbal commands, gives paw, plays fetch, loves her belly rubbed and in general lives to please you.

As with big puppies, Trinity can be a handful at times. She needs a home with a firm hand and someone who will be the alpha otherwise she will take lead. Trinity should preferably be in a single dog home, preferably without children.  She currently is in a three dog home, however, unless you are prepared to monitor and consistently work with her as a puppy, she will resource guard. Not against humans, but she will resource guard you as her own and can get jealous over attention with other dogs.  Please note that Trinity has been professionally trained and is continuously trained on this, and as she is growing, is less assertive.

There are no issues with petting her while she eats or drinks, touching her food, even taking a bone from her, etc.

When out and about Trinity will be aggressive towards other dogs when she first meets them. She is always walked with a prong collar and there are no issues. She even comes shopping with me inside stores and is extremely well behaved. When walking outside, she will take cue on your behavior. If you are friendly, she will bark protectively and then be friendly with people if you tell her to be nice. For the most part, Trinity gets very excited to meet people and is a happy dog.

FYI- she is living with a blind toy female poodle and there are no issues at all.

As for rehoming, Trinity is an excellent dog. As she is a puppy, obviously she still need to learn a lot, but the foundation is all there. Quite frankly, I would not be looking to rehome her if I did not have to. Unfortunately she has been diagnosed with hip dysplasia by both vet and an orthopedic specialist. At this time, she does not have any issues running around, rough housing with other dogs, walking stairs, and absolutely loves to play outside. Trinity is currently not a candidate for surgery, and will not be so for another year or two according to the vets.

I do not have the ability to take care of Trinity because I am already dealing with a rescue Saint Bernard puppy who is in need of knee surgery (and his stomach being tacked) as well as a blind and diabetic toy poodle who has several issues too.  I am hoping that there is someone out there who has a big heart and lots of love for my girl. All she wants is to be is loved and hugged.

We are going to be very selective who this pup goes to. She got a bum start in life, but deserves nothing but the best. If you are interested in Trinity, or any of the other Shilohs in our Rescue~Rehome Program, please fill out this application to be considered. Thank you!

Grizz :Florida

Name: Grizz
Date of Birth and/or Age: 10yrs
Current Location: Ft Meyers, Florida
Brief Bio:
Due to his mobility difficulty, his owners want him to remain in Florida. They are concerned traveling will be too difficult for him.

Grizz is a 10yr old neutered male Shiloh Shepherd.

He is needing to be rehomed due to his owner joined the military and his family doesn’t have suitable housing arrangements for him. He is currently being kept on their Lanai because he has difficulty walking on the tile floors throughout their home. With the extreme Florida heat approaching us, they know this isn’t a safe option for him.

He needs to go to a home with no other dogs or cats.

If you are interested in providing this senior Shiloh a warm loving home for his final years, please fill out our adoption application.

Updates:
2/1/2019 : I went to meet him to evaluate his temperament. He was a super sweet VERY BIG boy! He loves to play with a ball. He would catch it and even flip it back to me to chase after. He also loved my 10yr old little friend I brought with me.

3/7/2019 Grizz is no longer available.
