Brief Bio: Possible Shiloh Shepherd .:. PLEASE READ FULL DESCRIPTION 🧐 Looking to find permanent placement for this male found in Delaware in the beginning of May. Vet thinks he is 3 to 5 years old but he very much looks and acts like a puppy. Currently approximately 75ish lbs, needs to gain another 7 to 10. He was found very matted and severely underweight. He is a cryptorchid...meaning he will need a complicated neuter. And yes, he will be REQUIRED to be neutered. He has been vetted, heartworm tested negative, lyme tested negative, and vaccinated (including rabies). Zeke is for an experienced dog owner only. He is a great family dog, good with children but will not be placed in a home with infants or toddlers only because of his energy and size. He is very wary of strangers and gets anxious, but never aggressive. He will need someone with strong leadership skills to guide him along with kind positive reinforcement training. He willingly hops in the car, walks well on a leash, has learned sit and is working on stay and recall. He was not housetrained when he was found, but is now. He is minimally food motivated and not toy motivated. High praise works best. He is dog friendly, big and small, but he is a big dog that throws his paws and body around so some dogs may not tolerate him well. Fenced yard preferable but considerations will be made. The family who found him absolutely loves this dog and want to receive updates and pictures from his new family. They would love to keep him, but with two young very needy kids, one of them being a 15 month old getting into everything, he is more dog than they need and know it’s what is best for Zeke as well.
